SPAIN PARK JAGS YOUTH FOOTBALL

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available.  Following the completion of this registration, you will see a charge on your account from HOOVER ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.

The Spain Park Jaguars Youth Football program fields teams from First Grade through Sixth Grade (ages 5 – 13). Organized under the Hoover Athletic Association, the young JAGS are closely affiliated with the athletic department of the Spain Park High School Jaguars. The young JAGS practice at the Spain Park High school athletic facilities and play their home games under the lights on the artificial turf of the actual Jaguar high school stadium. Participating within the Jefferson-Shelby Youth Football League (JSYFL), the JAGS play teams from the greater Birmingham area, including teams from Oak Mountain, Chelsea, Pelham, Vestavia, Hoover, Helena, Briarwood, Trussville, and Homewood.

If you attend or are zoned for any of the following schools, you are eligible to play for the Spain Park Jaguars Youth Football Program:

Greystone Elementary

Riverchase Elementary

Rocky Ridge Elementary

Shades Mountain Elementary

Berry Middle School

Home-schooled, zoned for any of the above schools

Private school or other school, zoned for any of the above school

OR

*Any child who lives within the Hoover city limits and obtains Hoover city services may be allowed to play for Spain Park Youth Football, even if they do not attend school within that community.  **Note that for this exception to apply, a player's home address must be closer in proximity to Hoover East Sports Complex than to Hoover Central Park.

The JSYFL is offered to players in 1st-6th grades. We divide the teams by where each player will attend high school, Spain Park or Hoover. In most cases there is one team per grade with the exception of the 1st/2nd grade team. This team combines 1st graders with 2nd graders.  Each team could have up to 50 players per team but usually averages about 20-25 players per team. The guaranteed playing time for each player for all divisions is  4 plays per game. If a team reaches the playoffs then there is not a guaranteed play requirement. The JSYFL also offers unrestricted weight for offensive and defensive line players with restricted weights for other positions. 

The HAA Football registration fee is $250 for all age groups.  This fee includes:

• Helmet provided for the season
• Game Jerseys
• Spirit pack (practice shorts and t-shirt)
• Practice jersey
• Pictures
• All games for the season
