COACHES' GUIDELINES, CITY GUIDELINES, & WAIVER

In the COVID 19 era the play will be different. As a coach, you will be responsible for assuring your team and fans obey the rules. Please err with abundance of caution. Please read these immediately and let me know if you have any questions before we get started. The purpose in completing this exercise now is to avoid questions while you are at practice.

Failure to follow these rules will have the following results:
•    1st infraction will result in a 365 day ban from coaching, managing, or participating on any field activity at Hoover East, regardless of if you are an HAA coach, a travel team coach, or a visiting coach
•    2nd infraction will result in an immediate dismissal from all coaching or managing duties, and include the above 365 day suspension

We need everyone to understand the magnitude of the rules and guidelines that have been put in place by the State of Alabama,  City of Hoover and HAA. Though this may appear draconian in terms of the punishment, it is an effort to ensure that everyone stays as safe as possible and one coach, manager, parent, or player’s actions do not result in an immediate suspension of play for everyone at Hoover East. Please take these rules seriously, we know that each of you understand and respect the importance of these guidelines.

Additionally please note:
•    Any player or coach showing any symptoms should not come to the park, you need to relay that information repeatedly to guardians.
•    Everyone is required to stay 6 feet away at all times from anyone that is not in their household.
•    The bleachers will be taped off, please make sure no parents sit in them. Parents can bring chair but still place 6 feet apart
•    Also please make sure players are spaced apart when they arrive and throughout practice. There are markers on the 3B side that are spaced 6 feet apart. Please place bags there and enforce kids standing by their bags.
•    During practice, assure no one on the field is closer than 6 feet. Structure you drills and practice around this principal.
•    For practice, please enter on the first base side and leave on the third base side.
•    Outdoor cages are to only be used during scheduled practice times. Enforcing social distancing requirements during their use is imperative, Only 1 coach and player should be in the Cage at one time with one player waiting. Other players and managers should be on the field.
•    Respect the practice start and end times. Early practice coaches should end practice 5 minutes early so they can clear the field by the end of the practice time, and late practice coaches should be prepared to delay their start time by 5 minutes in case an additional buffer is needed.
•    Catcher’s will NOT be allowed to share equipment. Please plan ahead for multiple catchers, depending on you league, and make sure you have the appropriate gear for each player. For HAA teams we are here to help with that process.
•    There will be no sharing of Equipment.

These guidelines are subject to change and are not meant to supersede any local, state, or federal guidelines.
